Topeka reports at 9 30 a m the Kansas Highway Patrol said most major highways were open yet warned driving conditions remained extremely hazardous. A hit and run damaged four parked cars on Ohio Street totaling 135 dollars. Two minor highway crashes near Lawrence, one near U S Highway 24 and another on K-10. Road crews began sanding but halted as snow deepened. Trains and buses faced slight delays with Union Pacific operations adjusted for extra stops.
