Special aide begins for Dana Wray at Cherry Manor
A nurse started work today at Cherry Manor as a state-hired special aide for Dana Wray a 24 year old quadriplegic living there. The admin Brenda Pomeroy said the nurse will work five hours each morning seven days a week and additional aides will be hired for evenings. SRS had agreed to fund special nursing care so Wray could stay at the home after state lawmakers urged action. Rep Lloyd Buzzi may seek to move Wray to a private residence while keeping state care. A special fund at University State Bank has raised 1297 to support Wray, with SRS clarifying fund usage to avoid jeopardizing state support.
