New Kansas governor Colyer sworn in at state house
Jeffrey William Colyer, 57, was sworn in as Kansas' 47th governor in a hastily arranged ceremony in the Statehouse rotunda after the resignation of Gov. Sam Brownback. Chief Justice Lawton Nuss administered the oath as Colyer pledged honesty, transparency, and accountability. Colyer noted openness and respect, and Brownback sat nearby with other officials as Colyer's family watched, including wife Ruth and two daughters Serena and Dominique.
