On this date in 1985 a winter storm grazed southern Tennessee and northern Louisiana Mississippi and Alabama producing up to 11 inches of sleet and ice in Lauderdale County Alabama. Forecasters note sunny to partly cloudy skies across New England and the Southeast with mild temperatures. A low pressure system risks rain and snow over the Great Lakes while another storm brings snow to the northern and central Rockies and showers to most of the Northwest.
Assistant Atty. Gen. Camille Nohe argued to U S District Judge J Thomas Marten that Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline’s 2003 opinion covered only sexual intercourse with minors and not other sexual activities The judge pressed for clarity as Nohe defended the document saying it speaks for itself The case centers on mandatory reporting of underage consensual sex and its privacy and abuse implications in Kansas where the age of consent is 16
