New diabetes drug Glucophage approved by FDA
The FDA approved the France made Metformin branded Glucophage to treat non insulin dependent diabetes but warned of a dangerous lactic acidosis side effect. American Diabetes Association president Dr Kathleen Wishner welcomed the approval noting it may work better for some patients.
