Bold Steal In Rochester Street Car Heist

Two men seized a chest containing 80 from a street car in Rochester in front of Main Street. They fled in an automobile as motorman and conductor stood in the station a minute. Tracks in the snow led toward the outskirts but the trail was lost. The money was the company’s partial daily earnings transferred to an uptown office. The robbers likely knew of the routine.

Newark authorities hunted Charles Meyers after Mrs Frank Hull identified the murder victim as Mrs Agnes Young of New York. Hull, detained in a Newark hotel, later said the dead woman was her half sister Minnie Jeanette Gaston, and asked the body be sent to Gaston in Serville Tennessee. Glass plant resumes as workers return after shutdown
