China says troops end great uprising in Baoding
Reports from Beijing say the army shut down armed bands linked to the Gang of Four in Baoding Hopeh Province ending a period of violence. Rebels raided armories factories and banks while sabotaging rail and communications before being ordered disbanded with punishment threatened.

A Douglas County District Court jury found 19 year old William R. Rayton guilty of theft and acquitted him of burglary from an Aug 12 incident. He was freed on bond pending a motion for a new trial on Feb 7.
