Community museum fundraising reaches final phase in Lawrence
The Elizabeth M. Watkins Community Museum campaign lists 523 donors including individuals and firms such as Hallmark Cards, Kansas University Endowment, and Johnson Furniture. Restoration costs are projected around 250 000 with endowment aims of at least 50 000 annually. The project nears occupancy planned for mid 1974, promising a premier regional museum and Kansas All Sports Hall of Fame quarters.
