Monopoly as a factor in unbalanced economics
Cincinnati December 28 AP The supposed key role of monopoly in faulting the economic system balance was urged by John Ise Kansas University economist in a paper to the American Economic Association round table. He cited steel prices near four year lower production at 20 percent and utility rates slow to adjust. Dr Abraham Berglund Virginia University joined in noting utility rates do not track trade swings due to rigid regulatory limits. Ise argued substitutes lessen monopoly burden while citing bread from independent bakers or home baking. The papers were part of a round table conference of allied bodies convening here with sessions through Saturday.
