K U Man Killed Mexican Bandits Hero of Border War
Captain Lester A Sprinkle, a University of Kansas man and native of the border expedition, led American cavalry against Mexican bandits on Christmas Day 1914 to 1916. He joined Company M as a junior at IST 16, trained at Fort Leavenworth, and rose from second lieutenant to captain last August.
