StopGap aids transition from foster care to adulthood
Emily Jacobs, a 22 year old from Lawrence, aged out of foster care after high school and faces tough adjustments. StopGap Inc founded in 2008 offers a five week life skills course for teens 16 to 18, with a fundraiser on Jan 18 at 23rd Street Brewery in Lawrence running from 4:30 to 10 p.m. The nonprofit aims to expand to a transitional living program as it seeks support from donors and volunteers.
