Bicycle Santa Repairs Bikes for Kansas Kids
Englevale volunteer Steve Brooks repairs donated bicycles in his shed and gives them to area churches and charities. Over ten years he has donated hundreds of bikes, with about 50 given this Christmas, easing need for families in southeast Kansas. Brooks began this after volunteering during holidays with a community group, learning demand outpaced supply. He collects bikes from his mother-in-law in Pittsburg and fixes them at his Englevale home, recalling his own Christmas hardships in a large family.
