Cottonwood Plan Expands Bess Stone Center for Intellectually Disabled
Cottonwood Inc plans a modern replacement for the Bess Stone Center at 745 Ohio to expand services for mentally handicapped adults in Lawrence. Executive director Gary Condra leads an effort to double clients from 20 to about forty by April 1972 with self employment, contracted services, and on site workshops.

Swiss Run Nigerian School Trains Good Watchmakers
In Lagos at the College of Technology in Yaba a Swiss run horology program trains Africa’s watchmakers. Funded by Swiss bodies with full scholarships, 31 students from several West African nations study three years for a diploma and tools. Graduates often gain Lagos dealer positions or start apprenticeships.

Arson Charge Follows Nixon Threat in Norwalk
Michael J. Brody 22 was charged with arson in a palatial Norwalk home fire less than a day after federal agents charged him with threatening President Nixon. Det. Capt. James Tallon said Brody, heir to J F Jelke, was held on $100000 bond. earlier he was released on $10000 bond after a Secret Service pickup in Scarsdale. He had phone threats of self immolation and Nixon harm, including calls to the White House.
