The girl who saved herself two younger brothers and an infant sister from possible death as flames engulfed their four room cottage could only exclaim gee gee gee when the patrol men unloaded toys food and furniture donated by Topeka citizens. The parents Mr and Mrs William Davies had moved into a small farm house outside Milford with their children. Mayor Frank Warren of Topeka asked that gifts be left at his office. The highway patrol offered transportation and the city’s response was generous two cars were required.
