Mob lynching in Scottsburg shocks quiet town

A masked mob seized Marlon Tyler from the Scottsburg jail after midnight, ventilating the scene with guns and taking him to an unguarded spot where he was killed. Men Enlisted for War With Spain Ready for Manila

Two hundred soldiers discharged from the Twentieth infantry at Leavenworth Kansas on December 24 plan to re enlist for the Manila trip. The regiment ordered to the Philippines expects to depart for San Francisco January 10. In Columbus James Mc Collough a drayman shot and killed J J Gurry over a long feud. Gurry attacked Mc Collough while he worked in a coal car. Mc Collough is married to a 28 year old and a soldier of the recent war.
