No 6 school house south of town held a Christmas gathering with music by the No 6 orchestra and a lecture by Prof E H Bailey of the University on Experiments. A Christmas program featured evergreen arches with a bell and star bearing Jesus Our Star. The event included a call for aid to northwestern Kansas and Nebraska. donations are to be received next Friday. Presents were distributed including a cake and a gift named an experiment for Prof Bailey.
A dispatch from Lawrence to a Kansas City paper states Lucius F. Shepherd and Nellie G. Russell of Topeka were married in Lawrence. The bride's mother lives at 32 Kansas Avenue and the couple are at that address. Shepherd is a traveling man employed by Standard Oil. The pair say they went to Lawrence to marry but do not consider it an elopement.

The seventh biennial report to Governor Humphrey details a healthy inmate population and good sanitary conditions. Fowler, about 52, left a wife and had a $1250 Covenant Mutual Benefit Association life policy.
Eupora Kansas December 28 1590 A party of young men from around Lexington four and a half miles east of here were hunting when Wm Hupps gun discharged while reloading. The bullet damaged the base of his right hand leading to amputation of the second and third fingers. His companions cannot explain the misfire and the victim is puzzled by the accident. The report also mentions perfume and plush gift sales at Raymonds.
The advertisement touts Hester's Specta cles priced at $1.00 as the finest line of handsome organs available in the city at Fluke's music store.
Dr Miles New Heart Cure is hailed as a life changing remedy for serious heart disease with widespread druggist praise. Mr John Weaver of Knightstown reports strong sales and many good reports, while O Monroe of Dunkirk notes large volumes. George Leis Drug Co. sells and guarantees the bottle.
A New York Sun report covers a grim sale of personal effects from paupers who died by their own hand. The coroner processes weapons and belongings, sending them to the public administrator then to a stereohouse near the Bowery, where a crowded auction sells cheap clothes, revolvers, knives, and odd items to curious dealers and bidders.
