Buffalo fishers haul Clinton Lake buffalo to New York markets
In Osage County Kansas, J D Bell and a five man crew net buffalo from Clinton Lake using 600 yard gill nets. By noon they have about 160 buffalo around 14 pounds each in a stock tank on Bell’s boat. The crew sells 10 to 60 cents per pound in New York markets, with 18,000 pounds shipped by midday to Brooklyn and Chinatown.
