KU Develops Policies to End Sex Discrimination

Lawrence campus empties as exams end and holidays begin

University of Kansas students wrap final exams and the fall term ends early. The between semester recess starts at 5 30 p m while orientation for the spring begins January 17 with classes January 24. Spring break runs March 18 through 27 and commencement is set for May 21 22. Public and St John school dismiss for 11 day Christmas holiday with all students to return January 3.

South Viets Plan Prisoner Release

South Vietnam will free 689 political prisoners held under suspicion of Viet Cong ties. Spokesman Vu Khanh said releases will occur on Christmas Day at various locations, with none brought to trial and the longest detention about six months.
