Longtime community servant Pete Bahnmaier of Lecompton dies at Lawrence Memorial Hospital at 66. He held offices in the IOOF Lodge school boards county fair and dairy groups and served 32 years on the United Methodist Church board. Funeral Wednesday at Lecompton United Methodist Church. Survivors include Edna his widow, three children, four sisters and one grandchild.

Three Treated After Accident Near Lawrence
Three persons were treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a pickup truck ran out of control and struck a parked car on a township road two and a half miles northeast of Lawrence at 1 p.m. Sunday. Duane D. Chiles and his wife Naoma and son Larry were treated and released. Damage totaled 400 to the Chiles truck and 250 to the Rider vehicle.
