Boy not competent to face murder charge in Humboldt
A 10 year old boy charged with first degree murder in the April 24 shooting death of Robert D. Hamlin 43 remains not competent for trial. A judge ordered the youth to stay in a locked down facility until involuntary commitment proceedings end, based on an evaluation from Larned State Hospital. The case stems from the boy shooting Hamlin as he sat watching TV then showing the weapon to a neighbor.
