Donna Reed Hospitalized With Early Pancreatic Cancer

Los Angeles AP reports actress Donna Reed, known for The Donna Reed Show and Miss Ellie on Dallas, is hospitalized with a pancreatic cancer detected during surgery for bleeding ulcers. Explosion kills three at Naples oil depot in Italy

A pre-dawn blast at an AGIP oil storage facility in Naples killed a mother and her adult daughter and injured more than 160. Firefighters battled a seven hour fire as planes dumped foam and smoke blanketed the Bay of Naples. Officials feared spread to a Mobil refinery.

Cigarette suit jurors take break in Santa Barbara trial

Jurors in a cigarette linked wrongful death suit ended their first day of deliberations without a verdict. They asked questions suggesting they consider whether cancer killed the smoker. The panel, with two smokers, returned for a reading of testimony from the treating doctor of John Mark Galbraith, diagnosed with lung cancer. They will resume deliberations Monday morning after a weekend break.
