Washington reports P G Walton president of the National Bank of Anthony Kansas was appointed national bank examiner by Comptroller Ridgely to fill the vacancy caused by Elmer E Anns of Norton Kansas. Kansas City December 20 nine hundred thirty eight indictments were returned today by the county grand jury mainly for violation of the Sunday closing law. Sixty five are against theater managers and employees, several hundred against pool halls cigar and athletic store keepers, and twenty against negroes for bootlegging whiskey.

The victim lies partly unconscious and severely beaten.

He declined to discuss public questions noting 120 days away from the U.S. and his need to readjust.
