State officials: No easy option for fixing school finance
State officials told lawmakers there is no easy path to raise an estimated 600 million annually to meet the Kansas Supreme Court mandate for adequate and equitable public school funding. City to hear report on nearly $700000 in uncollected payments
Lawrence leaders will review the final accounts receivable audit by RSM at today's commission meeting. The city ordered an outside audit of billing in June after land lease invoices were not sent to Riverfront Plaza for years. Auditors and staff found about $690,000 in unbilled or unpaid land and building leases and other agreements.
