DEA to expand drug prevention with more field agents
The Drug Enforcement Administration will more than double full time agents to build long term anti drug programs with police schools churches and other agencies. Nearly $5 million will be spent over two years to add field agents and promote treatment courts testing and community partnerships while preserving core law enforcement.

Human trials begin on possible diabetes cure at EVMS
Researchers led by Aaron Vinik at Eastern Virginia Medical School have started human trials in North Carolina Texas and Washington DC testing a protein that triggers growth of insulin producing islet cells and sugar regulating hormones.
