Differences narrowing in fiscal cliff talks with Boehner
President Obama has agreed to curb future cost of living increases for Social Security and would raise taxes starting at over 400,000 for individuals. He also offered protections for low income recipients and did not back a 67 age for Medicare, while Boehner sought higher taxes on investment income and estate taxes. The talks aim to avert year end tax hikes and trigger spending cuts across government, with unemployment benefits and Medicare physician payments at stake.
