Young Katrina survivors share hopeful Christmas spirit
Amid ruin from Katrina, eight to twelve year olds in New Orleans and displaced families in Chicago Alabama and Texas await modest gifts. Grandmother Mary McCray and 8 to 12 year old grandchildren press on with Christmas cheer, while aid workers report many children ask for essentials clothing school supplies and books. Across Foley and Mesquite residents extend help through Heartland Alliance and local Salvation Army drives.
