Stowaway Cruise Ends With Multiple Offenders Aboard
On the RMS Pendennis Castle nearing Southampton, several stowaways were exposed after leaving Cape Town. James White of Glasgow and his family were among the most persistent, while Christina Lee Shea of Albany New York joined impulsively. The Whites faced possible legal trouble in England, whereas Shea, caught during a dining room visit, lacked funds and relatives to sponsor her passage. A tattooed man nicknamed Skinner or Ben reportedly survived nine days as a covert stowaway.
