KU Professor Boehrer Dies at 46 in Lawrence
Kansas University history professor George C. A. Boehrer 46 of 1701 Tenn died this morning at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after heart trouble. He joined KU in 1965 and worked in Latin American studies and Brazil Portugal history. Survived by wife Joanne and daughter Anne. Funeral 10 a.m. Wednesday St. John's Church, burial Mt Calvary.

Fort Scott High School won the sweepstakes trophy at the Lawrence district debate tournament held Friday and Saturday. Kidwell Pleads Guilty On Reduced Manslaughter Charge
former state legislator Thomas Kidwell pleaded guilty to first degree manslaughter in the death of his second wife. Prosecutor Robert Hecht offered no objection and Kidwell was released on bond after a video tape showed his claim that she shot him first.
