KU EEEC Slawson Hall Opens With Focus on Outreach and Training
The new EEEC complex at KU unites geology and engineering in Slawson Hall named for Wichita donor Don Slawson. The two-building complex features the Robert M. Beren Petroleum Center, 232-seat auditorium, glass bridges, and media-friendly spaces. Ritchie Hall, named for Carol and Scott Ritchie, houses most teaching and lab spaces with a 162-seat flipped auditorium. The project, backed by $28 million in gifts, highlights Kansas geological resources using natural materials and a rock garden for public education. Dedication is set for April 25.
