Two Pawtucket Men Charged After Assault at River Pier
Kevin Brown and John Pelland, both 23 and 25, were ordered held without bail in Providence on charges of attempted murder and sexual assault after they allegedly sodomized, beat, urinated on, and threw a 35 year old woman into the Blackstone River near a Pawtucket pier. She swam to shore in near freezing weather and walked a mile to seek help. The attack occurred after a bar meeting in Pawtucket. The woman, who recently moved from Florida with her husband, survived after police and prosecutors described a grisly crime and noted potential life terms if convicted.
