High Speed Chase Ends in Crash Near Lawrence
Two men faced charges after a high speed chase through eastern Lawrence ended when the suspect vehicle crashed in a field. Alex River and Jared Miller led officers on a pursuit reaching near 100 mph before impact. both were captured and jailed on related drug and traffic counts.

Woman injured after vehicle strike at Seventh and Vermont
Lawrence authorities say a 70 year old woman walking in a crosswalk near Seventh Street and Vermont was hit by a southbound Ford Edge around 5 15 p m Monday. The driver, a 31 year old man, failed to yield and was stopped nearby. The victim was conscious and transported to Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries.
