The search for 22 year old Alexis Dillard continues into a sixth day. Tips and rumors circulate about her disappearance after she was last seen drinking near North Lawrence. Witnesses described a possible sighting near Sixth and Vermont at 12 30 a m with a white Ford Escort or Mercury Lynx involved. Police review tips while neighbors post fliers and media outlets share pleas for information. The National Guard plans river flyovers as officers monitor the Kansas River and bridge area for clues.

Ronald McDonald Children's Charities awarded 2850 dollars to Lawrence's Ryan Gray Playground for All Children. Jody Anderson accepted the grant at a Kansas City news conference to fund two access friendly items including an at grade whirl and five play shovels for Hillcrest School grounds named for Ryan Gray, a local boy who lived with a lifelong disability and died in 1990.

Two accidents injure four on Kansas Turnpike near Lawrence
Four people were injured in two separate crashes on the Kansas Turnpike just before midnight Tuesday. In the first crash near the East Lawrence interchange Martin Richter aged 19 from Lawrence tried to pass William Carney 56 of Topeka. both drivers were treated and released. Geraldine Carney 52 of Topeka was also hospitalized then released. In a second crash nearby Robert Prellwitz 41 of Topeka waited in traffic when Clarence Dillingham Jr. 40 of Lawrence struck his trailer, car went airborne, rolled, and Dillingham was treated for injuries. DCAS transported Dillingham to Lawrence Memorial Hospital in fair condition. The American Legion Post 14 blood drive will be held Saturday at Dorsey Liberty.
