Old Fashioned Theme At University Women’s Club Holiday Party
The University Women’s Club held its annual holiday party with an old fashioned Christmas theme. A large pine tree with handmade gold foil ornaments and red and white chains dominated the Kansas Union ballroom. Decorations featured evergreen, red candles made by Bess Stone Activity Center students, and red, green, and white chains. The program included traditional Christmas music by the club chorus directed by R. Edwin Browne, with soloists Mrs. Roy H. Johnson and Mrs. Glenn Price and instrumental support from Mrs. Daniel Ling, Roland Lukner, and Brigitte Smorodsky. After dinner the Bill Booth orchestra played for dancing while members enjoyed bridge. Party co-chairmen were Mrs. E. Jackson Baur and Mrs. John Cawley.
