A crash on a large field near Hyland Boulevard left a single plane catching fire from explosion to wreck. Eyewitnesses Edward V. Curry and Mrs. John S. Bailey described flames, wing detachment, and the plane tumbling in spirals as parts scattered over the field and boulevard. A mail bag pierced a parked car roof.

Clinton Farmer Drowns in Well near Clinton
Solon Oliver Mitchell 51 of Route 4 accidentally drowned in a farm well two miles south of Clinton.
