Federal investigators moved to arrest F Donald Coster head of McKesson Robbins when he shot himself in the bathroom of his Fairfield home. Mrs Coster cried out hysterically as U S Marshal Bernard Fitch found the body and others reacted with shock. Ed Davis 38, known as The Fox, was executed in the California gas chamber for the murder of Warden Clarence Larkin at Folsom. He left a note to guards saying his conscience rests easy.
