Topekan Woman Wins Damages Over Unruly Mare
Mrs Aleene Nagels of Topeka won 14000 in Missouri Supreme Court damages after buying Northern Breeze a mare with an uncontrollable urge to become a mother. The horse owned by R B Christy of Scott City became nervous after exercise. Stig Utz of Blue Ridge Stables sold the mare to Nagels. She had shown horses for 15 years and said Utz claimed the trouble came from blisters on the horse s front legs. Nagels received 4000 actual and 10000 punitive damages.

St Mary Ruth Lanning 1633 Ind St was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for head and knee lacerations and released. Monti Louis Belot III 742 Sunset Dr drove the car that struck Clifford Dale Hargis 22 of Troy Ohio who stopped for a left turn. Patrol troopers quoted Belot saying he did not see the stopped car. Estimated damage to the two vehicles was 1150.
