William Marklein drove into a streetcar waiting zone near a tabernacle in Detroit on December 9 injuring many and killing two. He later said he wished to meet the man whose wife he killed. Marklein sits with William Schnyer as the tabernacle service resumes after the crash. The article notes a recovery fund of $23 711.58.

City crews wage a multi tool effort to remove snow from Massachusetts street gutters after midnight. Firefighters used hoses to wash snow toward storm sewers while shovels and trucks aid lifting and hauling debris. About a dozen county relief workers joined 11 street staff and five trucks to accelerate clearance.
About 125 members trudged through ice and rain to the high school for a Choral Union meeting.
