A 13 year old from Lawrence was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a Tuesday morning crash east of Lawrence. The 16 year old driver, Kienna Coleman, was ticketed for speeding after losing control on North 1500 Road and hitting a culvert barrier. Coleman’s passenger, Zach Sanders, 13, was injured but released the same day. Witnesses cited wet roads and darkness as contributing factors.
A 23 year old Lawrence man already convicted earlier this year for lewd and lascivious behavior was arrested Tuesday on a warrant in a new case. Perry Lee Alexander posted $750 bond after being charged with lewd and lascivious behavior a misdemeanor in Douglas County. The alleged incident occurred about 8 p.m. Nov 17 in the 3300 block of Iowa Street. Alexander had pleaded no contest to a prior lewd act Oct 13 and was placed on one year probation by District Judge Paula Martin.
