Peltier sentence reduction denied by appeals court
The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected Leonard Peltier's bid to reduce his two consecutive life terms for the 1975 killings of FBI agents Ron Williams and Jack Coler on Pine Ridge. The court ruled the time for new ballistics evidence claims had long passed and affirmed the sentences as legal. Peltier’s attorney called the decision a disgrace and said a Supreme Court appeal was possible.
