Mixed early results as Kansas firearms deer season proceeds

Hunters report a mixed but generally good start across Kansas as snow and cold weather influence deer movement. Officials note higher success where snow lightened and roads stayed open, with Unit 19 in the Topeka-Kansas City corridor showing strong early checks. Some regions report fewer deer but notable large bucks, while check stations in Dighton and Harper County log strong activity. The season ends today.
