State audit finds security weaknesses in agency computer systems
An IT audit of eight state agencies led by the Department of Administration found chronic weaknesses in security controls. Weak passwords and software vulnerabilities left agencies vulnerable to breaches and internal access. The agencies reviewed include Aging and Disability Services, Children and Families, Health and Environment, the Kansas Attorney General, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
