In Topeka on December 10 Governor J M Davis granted Oscar Botts a thirty day parole upon request by a ten man delegation from Tengandxie. Botts, a Lawrence motorman, was jailed for a summer hold up of the McLouth State Bank. A woman connected to the robbery was also convicted. Bell Memorial Hospital Leased to City for Contagious Disease Care
City commissioners agreed to take Bell Memorial Hospital from the University of Kansas Medical School for use as a municipal contagious disease hospital. The city pays $1 a year on a 30 year lease and will assume control next spring when the new school hospital is finished. Grain exports last week totaled 2,050,000 bushels, up from 805,800 the prior week.
