Legislative leaders in Topeka decide to draft a bill outlining how the Legislature would negotiate casino gambling compacts with Indian tribes. The Legislative Coordinating Council scheduled a Dec 21 meeting to discuss the bill amid lawsuits from the Kickapoo and Prairie Band Potawatomi tribes challenging existing compacts.
