Lawrence attorney Terrence Campbell withdrew his nomination to a seat on the federal bench in Kansas citing low chances of Senate confirmation amid limited time remaining in Congress and the recent election. He thanked President Obama and notified Kansas Senators Moran and Roberts of his decision. Campbell, 46, has been with Barber Emerson since 1999 and is a KU Law alum.
A 33 year old Lawrence man was arrested Tuesday night and booked into the Douglas County Jail on suspicion of sexual battery. He is being held without bond and has not been charged. The arrest ties to a 7 06 p m sex crime report from 200 block of McDonald Drive.
