Lawrence police listed three city break-ins reported today. Ballard Community Center at 708 Elm St saw a desk ransacked and toys stolen after 9 p.m. Wednesday. Huxtable Electric Co. Inc. at 545 Ind. St. reported a break-in between 10:45 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday with desks and file cabinets ransacked but nothing stolen. Central Junior High School at 1400 Mass. St. reported a break-in between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 5:30 a.m. Thursday with desk drawers ransacked and entry via a window.

Scouts Tour Fort Riley for Army Preview Visit

More than 50 Explorer Scouts from the Pelathe District will tour Fort Riley on Saturday as part of a military preview scouting activity. Lawrence Explorer Post 2057 coordinates the trip with visits to the base museum a buffalo pen and Army training exercises. Maj. Independence Man Injured After Turnpike Accident

Arthur G. Hahn a 73 year old Independence Missouri man was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for cuts after drifting asleep on the Kansas Turnpike near the east Lawrence interchange around 9 45 this morning His 1961 auto sustained 300 in damage troopers said Hahn was eastbound when he left the road struck a guard rail reentered the roadway crossed the median and ended on the shoulder He was released from LMH after treatment.

Council Backs KU Space Bid

The Industrial and Research Development Council of the Kansas State Chamber of Commerce urged the State Chamber to support state funds for site prep of a Space Technology Building at Kansas University. Regents seek 354000 dollars to cover KU's share, with NASA already granting 1.8 million for construction. Olson transferred to KU Medical Center after car crash

Donald L. Olson II, 20, of 820 Ohio, moved Thursday from Lawrence Memorial Hospital to Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City after a Saturday morning one car crash two miles east of Eudora on K-10 Highway. His condition was listed as poor.
