Four Students Arrested In KU Bootlegging Probe
Police arrested George W. Lamb M M Scanland and G E Scanland all KU students and Charles Seathers a Jayhawk cafe worker believed to run a student liquor ring. Seven pints of bottled in bond whisky seven half pints and two quarts of corn whisky were found at 1814 Tennessee street. Lamb admitted ownership of the liquor. The Scanlands said Lamb asked to store it in their trunk and they granted permission. Leathers denied involvement. The four are charged with possessing liquor in violation of state prohibition law and face arraignment tomorrow. further charges of selling whisky may follow. They were jailed in default of bond.
