In Belton Texas a jilted suitor shot and killed Marie Dunlap a 20 year old Mary Hardin Baylor College student and her mother Mrs Weldon Dunlap before taking his own life Sheriff Ralph Jeffers identified the trio as Leroy Cockrell a farm and ranch worker in his mid 20s and the two Dunlaps He said Miss Dunlap had dated Cockrell for about two years and had been trying to break off the relationship recently.
