Hotel Fire at Winecoff Hotel Kills 103 in Atlanta
A dawn blaze at the Winecoff Hotel on Peachtree Street in Atlanta killed at least 103 people with many more injured as guests leaped from the burning 15 story building. The fire started around 3 15 a m on the upper floors trapping 285 guests and led to a large casualty count with emergency mortuaries set up city wide.
