Kansas GOP leaders edge moderates as budget crisis looms
Sen. Anthony Hensley of Topeka was re elected minority leader and Sen. Laura Kelly named assistant minority leader amid a looming 350 million budget hole. House Republicans chose Ryckman as majority leader with a reform minded tone and vows to balance moderates and conservatives. Senate leaders shifted to reflect a more centrist GOP while Democrats gain seats and prepare to press a broader agenda with Ward as minority leader.
