The City Commission narrowed applicants to eight in November, then to Bremby, Harrison-Lee and Markus as final candidates. Interviews begin December 19 after a December 18 final round. a community meet and greet for the finalists is scheduled December 17 at the Carnegie Building, with ongoing negotiations possible after December 18.

Waterline on Prospect Avenue to finish by Thursday
Lawrence reports completion of a Prospect Avenue waterline from East 15th Street to Oak Hill Avenue set for Thursday. Western ramps of the Bob Billings interchange on the South Lawrence Trafficway will open Friday weather permitting. Michigan Street work begins Monday after water line replacement. A four block North Lawrence levee trail segment from the Kansas River Bridge to Oak Street boat ramp is closed until December 31.
City to remodel building may include Douglas County Senior Center
